Oral Care, a leading Nordic dental care group backed by Nordic private equity firm Axcel, has acquired the activities of Implantatklinik København I/S (IK) and SmileDesigns P/S (SD) via an asset deal, marking its first acquisition in Denmark and further strengthening its position in the Northern European dental market.
Founded in 2006, IK is one of Denmark's most experienced dental clinics within implant treatments, with more than 30 years of clinical expertise. The clinic specialises in advanced implant treatments, including titanium implants, porcelain crowns and bridges, aimed at restoring both natural function and aesthetics. In addition, IK offers a broad range of general dental services, including routine examinations, cleanings, fillings, and more advanced surgical procedures. SmileDesigns, originally established in 2016, specialises in aesthetic dental treatments with a focus on Invisalign. The two clinics have established strong commercial synergies, with a significant share of SD patients transitioning to IK following the completion of their Invisalign treatment.
The acquisition marks Oral Care's first entry into the Danish market and supports its acquisition-driven growth strategy across the large and fragmented Northern European dentistry market, reinforcing its ambition to become a leading dental care group in the region.
