Carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emissions, CO₂ mapping

Mitigating climate change and reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are high on the political agenda. Businesses play a crucial role in this effort.

Impact is typically measured by calculating emissions of CO₂ equivalents, which may stem from production, product usage, service delivery, or general business activities. By identifying and quantifying these data, it becomes possible to establish a solid plan for reducing emissions.

The calculation of CO₂ emissions follows the GHG Protocol’s classification into Scope 1, 2, and 3.

  • Scope 1 includes the company’s direct emissions.
  • Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased energy.
  • Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions across the value chain.

A thorough assessment of Scope 1 and 2 is a necessary prerequisite for mapping and reducing emissions in Scope 3.

CO₂ emission calculation and mapping

We are ready to help map your company’s activities that result in greenhouse gas emissions—without the need for investment in software or IT systems. With a carbon accounting report prepared in collaboration with BDO, you can document your CO₂e footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). We can calculate the total emissions and develop comprehensive reduction plans tailored to your needs. If internal training and capacity building are required, we also offer this. Our goal is to create processes specifically adapted to your unique situation—contributing to a more sustainable future.

Option for auditor’s assurance statement

Option for auditor’s assurance statement

We also offer advisory services and quality assurance of your carbon accounting. We can issue an auditor’s assurance statement (ISAE 3410), verifying that the methodology used is in accordance with the GHG Protocol. It is important to note that an assurance statement is not an approval or certification. Rather, it represents a thorough review and assessment of the calculation method, with a signed declaration confirming that no material misstatements or deficiencies have been found. You can present the carbon accounting report to customers, banks, business partners, employees, and others. It demonstrates that your company is staying ahead of new climate legislation—and it can also serve as a foundation for green transition efforts and the reduction of your company’s energy consumption.
